blunt your mind

When coal was king

Overtime pay wasn't a thing

Blacks knew their place

Didn't complain about inequality and race

Women were docile and weak

 Never protested in the streets

Let's go back ,now

 to the mythical date

you know, when america was truly great

When only certain men could apply
Even if there weren't remotely qualified

When we allowed prayer in school
but segregation

When we had internment camps,
torture, humiliation

Let's go back in time
As if we were doomed by fate

You know, when america was truly great
