Sometimes

Sometimes it snows in April

Rare spring white flakes

Sometimes the world sees justice

But at what cost  What does it take 

Years and years of lynching, torture, enslavement, 

the breaking of will

Public executions, mass incarceration,

 the open casket of Emmitt Till

Or does it take activism, vigorous engagement, staying woke

Or replacing slimy politician who 

pass laws to suppress our vote

Yeah, sometimes it snows in April 

Spring flakes that may seem strange

Other times there are rare moments in life

we must act upon to bring forth

 change
