What She Was Created To Be

A land of equality &
Independence
is
what she was created to be

Not a land of
 racism
and tyranny

All who have eyes

say can you see

america
is not
what she was created to be

She's my home and,
of course,

 precious to me

But I'll never embrace
her dual allegiance
to the confederacy

Statues honoring
white supremacy

Strange fruit still
hanging
from her trees

Blood of my ancestors
flowing in her seas

 Injustice
her true
legacy

"We the People"
just a

 fallacy

Oh
my fellow americans
say can't you see

Until the wrongs
are
righted

her creed is hypocrisy

All who have voice
repeat after me

We must make america
live up to
what she was created to be
