Today I wake a new again

Washing away yesterday's sins

I take a breath that never was

I sing in the shower just because

I walk out the door with a smile

Realize getting angry in traffic is futile

Today is a day like none before

 I'm rich in spirit which I give to the poor

I walk in abundance & I'm filled with joy

The wisdom of life I will employ

To live in faith & boldly say

I'm living my dreams and they start today

And burns like a fire

 from deep inside

I dig her rhythm

it's in her walk

 her captivating style 

 that makes the men talk

I admire her presence

and how it fills the room

With a scent as sweet

 as a nice perfume

I crave her attention

 but only for me

but being held in her arms

I know will never be

I love her passion

It's pure ecstasy

And it encourages me to be

the man I know I can be

The Same Thing

We're all looking for the same Thing

on this great blue rock

As diverse as we all are

We're really one big flock

A flock of different colors

A unit of different creeds

Many sizes, many shapes

but the same air we all breathe

 And though our paths are unique

and so is our inner voice

We're all looking for the same thing

even though we have individual chose

So I not talking bout keeping up others

Or even coping their style

We're all looking to be "Happy"

not just in the moment but for a long while.

Our Unofficial Holiday I

Super Bowl Sunday our unofficial holiday

When we gather around the TV to laugh, shout & pray

Eating plenty of food & drinking plenty of drink

but before we drink & drive, i hope we stop & think

It's all about life & living it to the hilt

but getting behind the wheel drunk 

can get somebody killed

so grab up your jersey,  wear your lucky cap

and when your team scored a TD, give your boy some dap

but be respectful of yourself & other when u party down

Cause a holiday just ain't the same, when everyone not around

I'm Privileged

Is it luck, fortune

or a plunder

Some say it's a blessing

I often wonder

When I reminisce 

it makes me smile

but for each and everyone 

i'd walk a mile

every where I go 

they're always there

always in my corner 

not in my hair

Anyway I'm with them

till the end

I'm privileged in this life

to have good friends

Have the courage to excel 

find your purpose and do it well

Get up and at it,  don't delay

putting in the work it's the only way

ups in downs will come no doubt

cause that's the way we figure things out

it's your calling, calling for you

so to thine own self you must be true
