Much Is Required

 As I start my day, I pray

Lord, open my eyes in a mindful way

Please give me strength and a compassionate heart

Spiritual resolve and wisdom to impart 

May I know the devil's playground is the cynical mind

And although we're all navigating our way through difficult times

There're many who are more in need

And blessed are the ones who plant the seeds

The seeds of Faith, Hope, Opportunity

Selflessness, and Unity

May this be my calling for all the days, till I expire

Cause to whom much is given, much is required

In The Midst

IN THE MIDST

 Tell me what scares you, what excite you,

When you're bored

Hiding behind the mask of social acceptance is such a chore

Tell me your disappointments, your reservations, your sins

As if it were the prerequisite to the moments we ascend

Tell me what makes you laugh,  love. angry, or hurt

Pain, pleasures, inches measure, maturity, or how we revert 

Tell me the words I take for granted, and that's for damn sure

As we lay upon each other, the familiar and obscure

And, I will speak the language of a man who has dropped his guard

In the midst of the intimate moments 

You allow me in your yard

This Thing Called LOVE

Overcome the devils with this thing called

 LOVE

Standing United,  we rise above

Hatred, deception, regression, fear

Tough is the love we wield, my dear

My beloved, my partner, my compatriot, my friend 

Power to the people, we are here to defend 

Our voices, our truth, our way of life

For victory, with courage, passion, might

And all the honor we speak, thereof

We overcome the devils with this thing called

 LOVE

The Soul Of Discernment

 Humility over hubris

Honor over disrespect

Science over fiction

 What we nurture, we get

A healthy generation

Is fostered by the truth

Which is in need of immediate attention

From a discerning soul like you

The Cure

Riots, Mayhem, Chaos, Hate

Ain't really making us feel so great

But's it's ok to vocalize how you feel

But please, Take a little time to heal

Don't keep scrolling feeds that bring you to tears

Make you mad or incite fear,

or sickness, uncertainty, or that bring unrest

For peace and stability, take a breath

Just five minutes of your time

 to breathe, relax, calm your mind

I did just that, and now I'm grateful

Cause the world, as we know it, 

isn't inherently hateful

It will, however, test our will

So when the storms rage

Peace! Be still!

For through the trials and tribulations we will endure

And beyond the troubled mind, there lies a cure

 Persist

 Onward, forward

over obstacles on your path

For they only strengthen your resolve

and never, ever, last

There's light, a clearing, ahead

 so don't dare retreat

But take time to appreciate 

the journey

Cause that's the part that's sweet

Be determined, not stressed

And may your mind be blessed

With the attitude

To bless others too
