Tim's musical history
"Tim Clark has been performing professionally since the 1990s. In that time, this multi-talented musician has developed an unique, eclectic style that burns deep in the soul of all who witness his art.
As the co-founder & manager of the indy band JPT; Tim spearheaded the band's original sound which he coined, "Funkternative Music". This sound along with the band's dynamic stage show earned them such honors as performing at the legendary CBGBs in New York as well as; television, radio & print media attention.
From playing on shows with mega-star James Brown and Hip Hop artist Method Man to recording CDs and touring the country, Tim gained valuable experience that would help shape his artistry. As Tim's love for musical expression grew, he found his way to other genres of music.
In musical theater, he landed lead roles in productions of Ragtime & The Fantastiks; as well as supporting roles in several other plays. In Opera (with the MOT), he sang in the chorus & even performed on stage with Opera great, Denyce Graves in the original production of "Margaret Garner"(directed by Broadway's own Kenny Leon). Mr. Clark is currently collaborating on a musical and an audio book while working on a solo project in the singer/songwriter genre."

Tim's (former) Community Mission
Yoga isn’t the first thing you think about when you hear Detroit, Michigan, but since 2008, Timothy Clark, with the help of his business, the Underground Sanctuary of Yoga, is helping to make his community stronger.
“Detroit—despite all the negative press—has a vibrant community of people.” Clark said. “We are resilient, strong-willed, creative and passionate. And we definitely aren’t weeping, wailing and waiting to be saved. This city is forging a unique path to its future from its ‘Gotham-esque’ persona and the state of being that yoga brings, is perfect for this environment.”
Through his studio, Clark gives the community the tools they need to reclaim, rebuild, and renew their city. His students come from many different backgrounds but all share a common purpose. No student is denied because of financial circumstances.
Clark began his fascination in 1999 while on tour.
“I was the leader of a touring band, (JPT) and dropped in on a yoga class in Santa Monica, CA,” he said. “I struggled through the class but realized that this was more than just a mere workout. I was hooked. Through the practice I have gained mental, physical and spiritual strength and flexibility.”
Clark, who is an expert in many forms of fitness, said, “Being fit is about more than just aesthetics. It’s about creating a foundation mentally and physically that can sustain what’s built upon it. yoga, which is thousands of years old, does just that. So believe me, yoga is not a fad!”
Clark is also a musician and singer. He often shares his talent during his classes.
“I just work on cultivating my gifts,” he said. “We all have them. I believe that when our gifts are mastered, we can be more effective in serving our life’s purpose.
So no matter what I do, all that I am just naturally comes through.”
Currently, Clark is working on his third DVD, Tim Yoga Basic. It will be available soon.
